"Arthur…"
The faint whisper went unheard.
"Arthur…"
Again, no reply.
What was this, this strange feeling… Like there was something missing…
Noise.
Yes, that's what was missing. And then suddenly, it wasn't anymore. The constant pounding, beating, ticking, throbbing of life…
It was there again, the never-failing noise.
But something else was missing, too. Ah, there it was. The movement. The fall and rise of a chest; the feeling or air rushing through lungs.
The pulse of life.
"Arthur…!"
Nothing.
"Please…"
The pathetic plea faded into the background.
"Please, Arthur… I'm scared…"
The grass rustled somewhere.
"I'm confused…"
Was that footsteps nearby?
"It hurts…"
…
"It hurts to be alone…"
…
"Help me…"
…
"Help…"
…
"Please, Arthur… Help me!"
…
"I love you…"
…
"I need you…"
…
"Help…"

UKxUS - Always
Arthur had long gotten used to Alfred coming over and pleading him to watch scary movies at any time of the day. So it was no surprise to him when, late one afternoon, he answered his doorbell to find the American standing there, looking half sheepish and half freaked out, holding a DVD in his hands.
"Hey there, Iggy!" he said in a forced cheerful voice. "What'cha doing?"
Arthur rolled his eyes, looking at the DVD cover. The Exorcist. Just the kind of movie to send Alfred scurrying over here so he didn't have to watch it alone.
"I was getting some embroidery done.... but I assume you want me to watch another 'scary' movie with you, Al

Silence.
It pierced Arthur painfully, his cheeks sweltering under its pressure and anticipation.
Eyes.
Each pair was fixed on him, including the smiling man kneeling in front of him, holding out that little box filled with surprise and expectation.
Was he breathing? Arthur wasn't sure anymore. He couldn't feel it, just every eye on him and the burning heat in his face.

Then, disappointment. Surprise.
Alfred watched as his lover whipped around, running up the stairs towards his room, leaving him kneeling there with ide eyes and no answer.
"Ar-Artie?" The American's voice was soft, rarely afraid but still hurt and

"England, did you hear that? It sounded like Alfred," Canada said.
"Let's go find out what it was," England said, standing up from the table where he was sipping his tea.
Canada stood up and left his coffee on the table. They left Robert staring out a window, grinning at a robin. England walked quickly, with Canada right behind him. The two stepped in something wet. They looked at their feet to see blood soaking into the white carpet.
Their eyes snapped up to the stairs. Both screamed when they laid eyes on the figure in front of them.
America was lying on the stairs, eyes wide and staring at nothing. A wide gash on the side of his head w
